History of Tri-State

The company was founded in 1984, focusing primarily on servicing customers in the Memphis area with overpressure protection products and services. Working closely with customers in the area, TVI developed a strong relationship as the premier supplier of overpressure protection products. This location still repairs relief valves under V, UV, and VR stamp approvals from the National Board and ASME.

Headquartered in Memphis, TN, TVI services its customers currently through six stocking locations including all locations with the capabilities of valve automation, three certified VR shops, and on-site repair capabilities.

Timeline:

  • November, 2012 - New Valve Repair Trailer - TVI launches its first VR trailer for the company.
  • May, 2012 - New Location - TVI opened its 6th location in St. Louis, MO as the base of operation for on-site VR repair and inline valve repair.
  • January, 2012 - Location Move - TVI moved its Columbus, MS location to a new location 1 mile from the Tronox facility in Hamilton, MS.
  • August, 2012 - New Valve Repair Location - TVI obtained approval for its third VR location from the National Board for its El Dorado, AR location.
  • May, 2011 - New Location - TVI opened its fifth location in Evansville, IN to automate valves and carry local inventory to customers in the area.
  • February, 2010 - New Location - TVI opened its fourth location in Columbus, MS to automate valves and carry local inventory to customers in the area.
  • March, 2006 - New Ownership - Bill Henson acquired TVI to become part of the team and continue the success the company had enjoyed since its inception.
  • 1997 - New Location - TVI announced its third stocking location and second VR shop in Calvert City, KY. Located within a mile of the chemical plants in the area, the Calvert City operation also began valve automation in the area for local customers.
  • 1991 - New Location - TVI launched its second stocking location in El Dorado, AR. This location was initially launched to support instrumentation and valve automation to customers throughout South Arkansas.
